Why connect Google Docs?

Team Collaboration

Share exported docs with writers, editors, and stakeholders. Everyone can comment, suggest edits, and collaborate in real time.

Formatting Preserved

Headings, bullet points, tables, and links export cleanly to Google Docs. No reformatting required.

Client-Friendly Sharing

Share briefs and drafts with clients for approval without giving them access to your Ascend account.

Version History

Google Docs tracks every change automatically. Compare revisions, restore previous versions, and maintain a full audit trail.

Access Anywhere

Your exported content lives in Google Drive — accessible from any device, anywhere, with no additional software.

Secure Export

OAuth 2.0 authentication and Google's enterprise security protect your content. Ascend never stores your Google credentials.

Frequently Asked Questions

What formats are preserved when exporting to Google Docs?
All formatting is preserved including headings (H1-H6), bold/italic text, bullet and numbered lists, tables, links, and images. The document looks just like your Ascend article.
Can my team members export to their own Google Drive?
Yes. Each team member connects their own Google account. They can export to personal or shared drives, giving your team full flexibility.
Is there a limit to how many documents I can export?
No. Export as many briefs and articles as you want — there are no per-export limits on any Ascend plan.
Does Ascend sync changes back from Google Docs?
Currently, export is one-directional from Ascend to Google Docs. Edits made in Google Docs stay in the document. We are exploring two-way sync for a future release.
